Our kind thanks go out to Don Maxwell for his helming of the Windrider brand for the past years.  Don helped Windrider successfully make the transition from a forgotten division of a large corporation into a standalone sailboat manufacturer.

We are very excited to have a new partnership with Dean Sandberg

Dean is presently focussed on updating the company website, kickstarting production, and generally revisiting all of the Windrider models with an eye towards future development.  Rumours about the Rave, WR16 and new models will likely not be just rumours as Dean and his crew will take a close look at the market and leverage the very successful Windrider brand. 

Windriders and their owners have always enjoyed active racing, regattas, cruises, gatherings, you name it.  Our owners are some of the most active sailors around and as a result their is an excellent discussion group with up to date information.  The Windrider Forum is not factory sponsored in any way so it is an honest perspective from hundreds of owners on the virtues of these great boats.

The 2009 season was a quiet one for Windrider Ontario.  Even though many boat manufacturers and dealers struggled through what was obviously the worst recession of our lifetimes, we still managed to move some boats, supplied parts to our owners, and generally waited for the first signs of a strong economic wind to get reinvested.

2010 has already surpassed 2009 in terms of sales and interest.  Factory production was a bit delayed with the new ownership, but we are excited to take June delivery of our 2010 inventory, with the majority of the boats presold to anxious owners.
